Cafe Iberico

For JJ's birthday, I took him to Cafe Iberico for dinner!
We got the mussels he liked as well as the paella too. Excellent dinner!

Happy birthday!

Lazy Sunday?

It snowed a lot today so I stayed home all day to study.
snowy day

JJ decided to try to make a pot roast today... except that it went in the oven. We made use of my Creuset pot!

It was delicious!

Burrito House! Our favourite fish taco place :)

We love Burrito House! Once in a while, we just have to have the $1.75 per fish taco from here. They're amazing! Made with tilapia, pico de gallo, and just a dash of lime juice, you really can't ask for more flavour at that price. JJ practically had to drag me there the first time because I said it looked like such a dive. But it's not! It's awesome! Excellent guac (fresh!) and JJ recently discovered their breakfast taco.

Kung Hei Fat Choi!

I'm going to take a post out of Danny's blog...

We wish everyone a very happy, prosperous, and healthy Year of the Pig!

We did not go to Chinatown this year so I don't have any pictures of any festivities. My coworkers and I went to Chinatown for dinner Friday evening but I didn't take any pictures myself (food wasn't exactly presented in a festive manner). If I manage to get copies, perhaps I'll post some.
In the meantime, you can enjoy last year's Chinese New Year post! :)

Red Rooster

I'm going to sneak a post in here because we never blogged about what we did for Valentine's Day. We went out to dinner after the 14th to avoid the crowd. Dinner was delicious French food in the back of the main restaurant (Cafe Bernard). The back restaurant did have a name though (Red Rooster)!

Unfortunately, the inside of the restaurant was super dark so none of the food pictures turned out but here's the outside!

Raptors vs Bulls and snowy-stormy night

As part of Deloitte employees appreciation night, I, as the sole Deloitte rep, took a bunch of my EY friends to the Raptors vs Bulls game at the United Center. Kudos should go to Kishen for organizing (and fronting the bill) for the whole thing and I was truly impressed that 20 people came along!
Even though the Deloitte seats got us up at the 311 section, the view wasn't bad.

We could see pretty clearly except for any action happening right behind the glass on our side.

It was a close game but a nice win for the Raptors by one point even they did blow a 12-point lead at one point...

The Canadians (Waterloo-ers) who cheered for the Raptors among a sea of Bulls fans:

It was quite the trek home. Apparently, Lake Shore Drive (south portion) was closed for a period of time due to poor visibility. It had been snowing the entire day but it got worse gradually and felt like it cumulated on our way home.

Here's JJ standing near a pile of fresh powder when we got off the bus:

Fun night nonetheless!

Fluffy white snow!

Yaaaay!! After days of bitter cold, we finally got some beautiful fluffy white snow! My favourite :)
